Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Families of Hemingway Elementary School,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the final days of summer. As we prepare to open the doors to a brand new school year, I am filled with excitement and gratitude to continue serving as the principal of Hemingway Elementary School.
With the start of the 2025–2026 school year, we are thrilled to welcome back our returning families and extend a heartfelt greeting to those joining our school community for the first time. This year, we proudly continue our school-wide theme: “Pathways to Success.” This theme celebrates the unique strengths, interests, and potential that each of our scholars brings to the classroom. At Hemingway Elementary, we believe that success is not one-size-fits-all—and we are committed to guiding every child on their personal journey of growth, discovery, and achievement.
Our goal is to provide the best opportunities for our scholars to become world changers—leaders who think critically, act compassionately, and strive to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. We are focused on creating an environment where all scholars feel safe, seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
Our school’s mission remains rooted in high expectationsacademic excellence, and a positive, inclusive culture. With your continued support and partnership, I am confident that we will reach—and exceed—our goals for the year ahead.
This school year, we are also placing a renewed focus on:
  • Strengthening communication between home and school
  • Fostering creativity and critical thinking in our classrooms
  • Empowering scholars to be leaders in their learning and behavior
  • And maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for all
As always, I believe in the power of community. I encourage you to stay connected, share your ideas, and join us at school events. Whether it’s  Grandparents Day, Spirit Week, or our Donuts for Dads, or Muffins for Moms, later in the year, your presence and involvement make a lasting impact on our school culture and our children’s success.
Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift—your child. Let’s work together to make 2025–2026 a school year filled with purpose, progress, and pride.
I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Warm regards,

Mr. Woodrow Nesbit Jr.
