Greetings

I am Ms. Singletary the School Counselor at Hemingway Elementary School. I am excited and proud about this role. This is my 18th year as a School Counselor and I consider it a privilege and honor to be entrusted with the students at HES, as well as, to be in partnership with the families and community leaders. I also have previous experience as a General Education Development Teacher.

Education

I received my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology (with a minor in Sociology) from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. I also obtained a Master’s in Counseling from Webster University in Myrtle Beach, SC.

 

School Counseling Program Mission Statement

The mission of Hemingway Elementary School Counseling Program is to provide a comprehensive developmental program through addressing academic, social and emotional and career needs. This program will also focus on empowering and enhancing students to become successful citizens by way of collaboration and involvement with all stakeholders; such as parents, teachers, administrators, and community businesses.

 

School Counselor

In this role I work diligently to foster a nurturing, safe, and empowering environment. I utilize the Comprehensive Developmental Program Model in conjunction with the American School Counselor Association National Model. Character Education lessons, individual counseling, group counseling, and collaborating services are the foundations for this program.
